Triangle Shipyard Successfully carried out the drydock repair, reactivation project for the Oil Products Tanker IBA which was later
named as JAOHAR A at our yard upon completion of special survey.
The vessel caught media attention when reports came of the dead vessel drifted ashore and grounded in UAQ, UAE causing major damages to the hull, propellers, and rudders.
The vessel was towed to Triangle Shipyard facility at DMC and our drydocking team carried out various inspections to make the docking plan and calculate adjustments to vessels displacement, trim and draughts ensuring a successful drydocking at the ship lift.
Major repairs were carried out on Tail shaft and rudder including manufacturing of upper rudder stock bearing housing and rudder stock locking plate, repair of rudder blade-broken casting piece- by special welding method, damaged and dent rudder blade plates were cropped, and new plates installed, propeller damages were repaired and polished.
Complete hull, main deck and ballast tanks blasting and painting, major pipe and steel renewals, Main Engine, valves and pumps overhauling were also among the major jobs carried out.
The vessel that was damaged, dead and grounded was successfully handed over to the owners as good as new by the repair team of Triangle Shipyard
